Happy Fall Y'all!

Here in Canada, the commencement of Autumn starts with the September equinox (21 to 24 September) and ends with the winter solstice (21 or 22 December).

Heat waves, thunderous tumultuous weather, and a longer than average activity filled summer season created a sense of deception as record heat temperatures brought us 'officially' into Fall.

So whats on the horizon weather wise? Guess it depends on who you ask..Traditionally as our daytime and nighttime temperatures decrease, we hope for an easy transition from our shorts, sandals and tees to the heavier attire of jeans, sweaters and jackets.

Fall transitions ourselves and our homes toward a different state of being, as we seek to escape the chill and darkness and into the depths of comfort food, cocooning and a welcome state of hibernation.

Celebrations of autumnal harvest, football and fall bazaars are often the most important on the autumnal calendars. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Sukkot, and other cultural holidays are often reflective of the bounty of the season.

In some areas of Canada and the United States, "leaf peeping" tourism is a major contribution to economic activity in places like the Monteregie, the Laurentians and Eastern Townships.

Leaf peeper enthusiasts travel from far and wide to view and photograph the fall foliage.
